The Barnes Musical Theatre Club is the brainchild of Catherine Loveless, founder of Butterfly Ballet and Stevie Tate Bauer. Having grown up watching every musical that hit the West End, Catherine wanted to offer classes in Barnes that complemented Ballet but also widened the children's skills.  Classes are taken by professional West End performers who provide expertise, insights, fun and creativity.

Classes are split into two age groups and each term drama techniques, voice training, dance movements and lots of drama games are explored through a well-known musical.  Classes encourage confidence, co-ordination and friendships and are a great way for the children to express themselves creatively and release all that energy!

Stevie Tate Bauer will be taking the classes and has had an extensive career in the West End. Having trained at the Arts Educational School of Musical Theatre, Stevie went on to understudy and play the lead roles of Elphaba (the green witch!) and Nessarose in the the musical "Wicked" with acclaimed performances of the spellbinding song 'Defying Gravity'.  Stevie has also covered the principal role Galadriel in 'The Lord of the Rings', a part she played over 70 times. Other roles include Rusty in 'Footloose', Nancy in 'Oliver' and Rizzo in 'Grease'. She has also appeared in a number of TV shows including 'Love Bites', the 'Ruth Jones TV Special', 'Hollyoaks' and 'Billy and Wally's Big Night Out'.

"I have had years of experience of working with children not only through teaching dance, drama and music but also as a teaching assistant in local primary schools. I love nothing more than watching a child grow both in confidence and personality. I have also had the pleasure of assisting private tutorials in singing and acting and have helped many children fulfil their dream of going to Drama School. I am looking forward to teaching classes in Barnes and I hope to continue nurturing future talent".
